Welcome to the Ducati Backyard Adventure Series

This web series is hosted by popular moto-adventurer Jamie Robinson from the saddle of the Ducati Hyperstrada, the perfect bike for discovering backyard adventures. Each episode will feature a new location and a local host who will show Jamie around his or her backyard, taking him through amazing roads and stops along the way.

Have an adventure of your own to share? You’re in luck, because we’re hosting a contest to find the best backyard adventure in the country. The winner will be the star of our final episode. It might even be you.

The Ducati Hyperstrada was our weapon of choice when filming our Backyard Adventures, but we know any Ducati is capable of great backyard adventures! And we want to hear about yours. To enter, fill out this short form and let us know where you’d take Jamie if you hosted your very own Backyard Adventures episode. Are there amazing backroads in your backyard? Great stops along the way? Hidden gems that few people know about? Anything you want to share about your own “backyard adventure” is fair game. We would never box you in. As if we even could.

Contest Winner: Xan Grayson

Xan Grayson
I am your man - Xan the Man. There is no one more obsessed with motorcycle riding and Ducati. I live in beautiful Jackson Hole: an outdoor mecca for scenery, wildlife, and nature on high! A town that has the most protected land in all of the United States, but there are roads through that land — and eye candy galore — with jaw-dropping vistas and panoramas, filled with the glorious Teton Mountain range, along with bison, moose, grizzly bears, elk, antelope, and bighorn sheep. I will take Jamie to Yellowstone National Park, North America's oldest and first National Park. We would also visit Grand Teton National Park! We would ride Teton Pass at 8,400 feet, and Togwotee Pass at 9,600 feet, and serpentine down Hoback Canyon on the Snake River.

Ducati Safety Pack (DSP)

Designed to maximize the control of the bike and active safety while riding, the DSP includes the Brembo braking system with Bosch ABS in its latest 9MP version, and 8-level Ducati Traction Control (DTC).

Riding Modes

The Hypermotard and Hyperstrada models offer Sport, Urban and Touring riding modes, which are programmed to instantly change the engine torque and intervention levels of the ABS and Ducati Traction Control, even while riding.

The Hyperstrada’s robust, semi-rigid side bags are equally light and stylish. They have a capacity of 50 liters and can be easily removed, making them convenient and practical.

With the wider and more comfortable touring seat set at a height of just 33.5” and the handlebars raised by 0.75,” the new Hyperstrada further improves the rider’s position so long distances can be covered, even with a passenger, in complete comfort.

The new 821 cc Testastretta 11° engine provides maximum power of 110 hp @ 9,250 rpm and torque of 65 lb ft @ 7,500 rpm. This new engine is extremely enjoyable, and it performs excellently and efficiently.

Power Outlets

The new Hyperstrada has 12V power outlets on each side below the rider’s seat. They supply loads up to a total of 8 amps (fused capacity), including heated riding gear, intercom, mobile battery charger and navigating instruments.

Passenger Features

The wider and thicker seat is designed to increase comfort on long journeys. In addition, passengers have added grab handles that enable a wider and safer grip for excellent stability.

Service Intervals

The Hyperstrada’s 821 cc Testastretta 11° engine has enabled further progress in maintenance planning. Valve adjustments are now scheduled for every 18,500 miles, so you can keep the adventures going without worry.
